Morocco Fans Out Joining Forces To Celebrate In The Netherlands

Supporters of the Moroccan football team took to the streets across the Netherlands on Saturday night after the team’s 1-0 victory over Portugal in the World Cup quarter-finals.

Cars honking their horns drove through the streets, and crowds, including children, gathered in squares and street corners, waving flags and singing songs.

Amsterdam police said they had made several arrests as people were lighting large fireworks, but by 7:15 p.m. there had been few reports of trouble.

“Yesterday I was disappointed with the Dutch national team, but now it’s a happy dinner,” said the fan, who was celebrating the victory with his son. told AD“We didn’t expect this.”

Morocco will be the first African team to make it this far in a World Cup and will face the quarter-final winners of England and France in the quarter-finals.
