Adele candid in Oprah interview: ‘I kept the entire alcohol industry alive on my own’ Stars

“I always envisioned having and keeping a family, especially after I became a mother. My new album is not so much about the separation of Simon and me, but about a separation from myself. If I really felt down, I let that come in. I have stopped drinking because when you are sober you process your feelings much better. I used to keep the entire alcohol industry alive on my own, but it didn’t do me any good,” said Adele.

Parting

Adele elaborates on the divorce with Simon: “He saved my life, he came into my life at the right time and gave me stability. I was so young then and so much was coming at me that he and Angelo kept me on the right path. Otherwise I would have completely lost myself. I still love Simon, but I’m not in love anymore. I trust him 100 percent and our bond is very good, which is why we still live opposite each other and our co-parenting is excellent. I have the deepest respect for him. And my wish for Angelo is that he become a good and happy person, I have absolutely no expectations for him. He should do what he likes and likes.”

weight loss

Although Adele lost quite a few pounds after her divorce, it wasn’t her for weight loss. She said she had many panic attacks and no longer knew how to organize her days. Sports and walking gave her structure. “My body has always been criticized, whether I was fuller or slimmer. Some people were angry that I suddenly wasn’t a plus size anymore, they felt abandoned. But it’s not my job to make other people feel good with their bodies, you have to do that yourself. I exercise a lot, but I also eat a lot. Yesterday a portion of Chinese and the day before McDonalds, haha!.”

New love

Rich Paul, Adele’s new love, met the singer at a party. A few years later, the two went out for dinner, which he said was purely business. But the singer thought otherwise. “A business dinner? For what the hell? We didn’t do business at all! But that was the first time we were just together, without friends. What attracts me about him is that he is really hilarious. He is funny, smart and very easy to get along with. It’s all so natural… oh god, I’m just blushing when I talk about this,” said Adele, who added that he’s now truly happy with herself for the first time.
