Stefano Denswil will temporarily return to Club Brugge. The leader of Belgium hires the Dutch defender from Bologna for the rest of the season.
The 27-year-old Denswil enjoyed his training at Ajax. He already played 177 games for Club Brugge between 2015 and 2019.The left-footed central defender celebrated two national titles with his Belgian team.
He is the fourth Dutchman in the selection of Club Brugge, after Ruud Vormer, Noa Lang and Bas Dost.
A crowd favorite and prize packer returns with Denswil. With Club, the Dutchman took two titles and a cup. Trainer Philippe Clement still knows the defender from his earlier period at Bruges, because Clement was assistant coach of Michel Preud’homme when Denswil took his first title with Club.
Club was looking for a left-footed defender because Deli is prone to injury and will not reach the level of last year. A purchase option was not enforced from Bologna. So if Club wants to hold Denswil this summer, it will have to talk to the Italians.
