Linda Hakeboom needs chemotherapy again. The 35-year-old filmmaker finished the treatments at the end of February, but a few more malignant cells have been found. “I went to the hospital again yesterday and we decided together that we will do chemo again for six months,” she says in her Instagram Stories.
She is dreading starting another round of chemo. “Very little malicious has been found, but they say they want to do everything I can to prevent it from ever coming back for my age and type of cancer,” Linda said. She fully agrees with that, she says.
“Everything I can do now, I will just do. I’d rather have side effects for six months longer than ever end up in this again ”, says Linda, who has made documentaries about Nikkie de Jager, Jett Rebel and Douwe Bob.
Chemotherapy is about to start. The filmmaker is now preparing for a month of radiation treatments that precede chemotherapy. “That means going to the hospital every day,” she says. “Then I have to get stronger and I will start with those tablets.”
Breast cancer was discovered in Linda last August. The first chemotherapy began in October, which she completed in February after five months. She regularly keeps her followers informed of her disease process via social media and vlogs.
