Princess Beatrix was put to work on Saturday during her visit to Curaçao. During a visit to the food forest, the 83-year-old princess was given an orange shovel with which she could plant an orange tree. She only had to do a small shovel, but Beatrix got the hang of it and shoveled her tree into the ground.

She did this under the watchful eye of children who regularly help picking in the food forest. The concept was conceived for people who are struggling financially and can thus supplement their food supply a bit. The princess was given a bunch of herbs from the garden.

On Friday, Beatrix visited the GGD in Willemstad and was informed about the testing and vaccination policy on the island. She announced that she had already received the booster shot with the corona vaccine before.
