Every year Jacky aged 11 and her friends celebrate their holiday at camping Sandevoerde in Zandvoort. But that tradition now seems to be coming to an end. The campsite will soon be demolished and luxury holiday homes will be built.
The people who like to come to the campsite find that very unfortunate. They are afraid that they will not be able to afford the new, more luxurious holiday homes. They want everything to stay as it is.
Most families have been coming here for years. Not only during the holidays, but also on the weekends. That also applies to Jacky of 11 years old.
Jacky hopes that the decision can still be reversed. Many other guests of the campsite want that too. That’s why they started a lawsuit. You can see more about it in the video.
This problem does not only occur at camping Sandevoerde. It’s like this:
At a holiday park it is usually the case that people themselves own their caravan or cottage. But the land it stands on belongs to the owner of the park. People then rent it from him or her.
An owner may decide to change something, for example to set up more expensive permanent holiday homes. And then the caravan has to go.
