Compound team misses bronze at World Archery Championships

At the World Archery Championships in Yankton, the Netherlands, the Dutch team failed to win bronze in the compound section.

Mike Schloesser, Max Verwoerdt and Sil Pater lost in the consolation final of the non-Olympic discipline of the Austrian team, which won the shoot-off 28-27 after a 231-231 final score.

In the shoot-off, the Austrians shot two nines and a ten and the Orange team a nine, a ten and an eight.

At the previous World Cup, in 2019 in Den Bosch, Schloesser and Pater had won bronze together with Peter Elzinga. At this World Cup, the Orange had surprised title holder South Korea in the quarterfinals. In the recurve section, South Korea lived up to its status as the longbow superpower with gold in all team competitions.
