In order to allow this group to benefit from the advantages of a credit card, payment card issuer ICS will launch the Go Card on Tuesday. Almost anyone over the age of 18 can make payments with this credit card, but money must first be deposited on the card. It is not possible to withdraw credit with the card or make payments afterwards.
According to Maurice Koot, general manager of ICS, the credit card also offers the advantage of purchase protection when purchasing online. “What many Dutch people do not know is that with most online payments they are not insured for loss, theft and damage. Once you have paid, in such cases you will lose your money. This is not the case with a purchase with a credit card thanks to the purchase protection,” says Koot. The ICS Go Card costs €65 for three years.
ABN Amro subsidiary ICS is responsible for the issuance and administration of Mastercard and Visa credit cards in the Netherlands. In the Benelux, approximately three million people use a credit card issued by ICS.
