Tadej Pogacar must have felt in the front rows in Palais des Congrès as if he was heading for the finish in a mountain stage. Wherever he looked during the presentation of the Tour de France, there was no sign of a competitor around him. World champion and the French cyclist Julian Alaphilippe was a little further away and could not be missed in Paris. Ride record holder Mark Cavendish was also there and given the Tour start in Denmark, Jakob Fuglsang and Kasper Asgreen also made an appearance. But no trace of Primoz Roglic, Jonas Vingegaard or Egan Bernal, the riders from whom Pogacar usually has the most to fear this summer.
