“To the handful of journalists who approached me: you are despicable and unfeeling,” Baldwin’s 25-year-old daughter wrote on her Instagram Stories. She also posts a message she received from a journalist asking for an interview. “Anyone who gave away my number, please delete it and never contact me again.”
The shooting incident took place on the set of the film Peace. Baldwin shot with a weapon that served as a prop, but the weapon contained blanks and also a real bullet, according to an email from the props union IATSE Local 44. Director Joel Souza was injured as a result, but was allowed to go home after a short hospitalization. Camera director Halyna Hutchins died of her injuries.
Ireland wishes Hutchins’ family much strength and love and wishes Souza a speedy recovery. “And I wish I could hug my dad really hard today,” she concludes. Alec Baldwin previously said on Twitter that he is “in shock” and “sad”.
