Dortmund top talent Moukoko (16) receives police after locking up ex-girlfriend | Foreign football

Youssoufa Moukoko, the 16-year-old top talent from Borussia Dortmund, has been discredited after locking his ex-girlfriend in his home after an argument. The police had to be involved to free the seven-year older Amelie from her plight, a police spokesman told the German Bild.

Moukoko should have ended a heated conversation with his ex because he had commitments outside the door. To make sure to find her again when he got home, he closed the door behind him. However, the 23-year-old woman decided not to wait, but to call the police. However, she does not file a complaint against Moukoko, with whom she became involved when the footballer was only 14 years old. However, the German public prosecutor’s office can also decide on its own initiative to further investigate.

The incident raises the question in Germany why Dortmund allows very young players to live on their own. The club also emphasizes to keep an eye on the young talents outside the field and to offer educational and psychological support, although this has not been able to prevent this incident. Moukoko’s parents live more than 300 kilometers to the north in Hamburg.

Moukoko made the record books this season by making his debut for Dortmund the day after his sixteenth birthday, becoming the youngest Bundesliga player ever. So far he came to fourteen appearances, in which he scored three times. It will remain there for the time being, because due to an injury, the Cameroon-born German youth international will at least not be in action until the summer.
