Dutch police find body of missing girl, suspected caregiver: report

Dutch police found two cars believed to belong to a missing disabled girl and her caregiver in a flooded area late Wednesday after a large-scale search, local media reported.

Hundreds of police and volunteers launched a frantic search for 10-year-old Hebe Zwart and her caregiver Sanne Bos, 26.

The search for missing girls and young women is gripping the Netherlands, with police saying they are tracking hundreds of cases.

Bos picked Zwart up from the small town daycare in Raamsdonksveer and the two were last seen Monday on the A59 highway between the town and Zwart’s home in Vught.

Late Wednesday, police tweeted that the car Boss was driving was found submerged in water on a bypass near the southern city of Den Bosch.

Police did not immediately confirm whether anyone was in the vehicle, but a police spokesman later told NOS national broadcaster they had found two bodies.

“We have good reason to believe that they belong to Sanne and Hebe,” the officer said.

“What exactly happened is still part of the police investigation,” the NOS added.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, police also used helicopters and sniffer dogs to search for the missing pair.

Police previously said Zwart needed around-the-clock care because of his disability.

There are endless waterways and canals in the Netherlands, and there is no end to traffic accidents involving water.
