Feyenoord lost for the second time this season.Heerenveen advance to playoffs

League champions Feyenoord suffered their second defeat of the season in Sunday’s final against Vitesse. Vitesse secured victory with a goal from Marco van Ginkel.

De Kuyp was in a celebratory mood as the Rotterdam Mars battled the final round of a hugely successful season, winning their first title since 2017. Fans were also elated by the fact that director Arne Slott has decided to stay with Feyenoord. A year after negotiations with Tottenham Hotspur of the English Premier League.

However, it wasn’t a perfect ending as former PSV midfielder Marco van Ginkel scored two minutes before half-time to give Vitesse the win. The goal was initially ruled out for offside, but a VAR check revealed midfielder Million Manhoof was onside, sending the pass to Van Ginkel, who slotted it into the goal.

SC Heerenveen beat the Go-Ahead Eagles to secure a place in the play-offs of European football. Goals from Pavel Bocinewicz and Che Nunnally ensured a place in the playoffs against fifth-placed FC Twente.

FC Groningen had a worse season, finishing bottom of the Eredivisie. Groningers had already been relegated but finished the season in 18th place as SC Kambour beat RKC Waalwijk 4-0. Goals were scored by Roberts Uldrikis, David Sambissa, Navarone Houle and Milan Smit.

This was the last game for RKC Waalwijk manager Joseph Austing. He will take over as FC Twente manager from next season.
