With Seres, the Dutch car market has gained an ambitious new brand since the end of last year. The manufacturer of the electric Seres 3 does not bother and is bringing two other new models to the market this year, can report exclusively.
Things can go fast in the car country. At the beginning of December, Seres announced itself as a new player, a Chinese-American manufacturer whose electric models find their way to consumers via Green Mobility Group Europe. The 4.39 meter long electric crossover Seres 3, which costs just under 38 grand, is the first car of the brand intended for Europe, but it doesn’t stop there. can exclusively announce that the electric Seres 3 will also be joined by the Seres 5 and Seres 7 in the Netherlands this year.
The Seres 5 is a so-called SUV Coupé, an SUV-like with a strongly sloping roofline that is emphasized in the Seres 5 by the strongly squeezed windows at the rear. Where the Seres 3 with its 163 hp electric motor and 52 kWh battery pack is clearly aimed at a more average audience, the 4.7 meter long Seres 5 is a car that will try to win over a completely different consumer. The four-wheel drive SUV gets a whopping 694 hp and 1,040 Nm strong electric powertrain that accelerates the car to a speed of 100 km / h in about 3.5 seconds. Count on a battery pack with a capacity of around 90 kWh, good for a NEDC range of over 480 kilometers.
The Seres 5 was presented to the Chinese consumer in April 2019 by the company then called SF Motors as SF5. In China, the SF5 is available with a range extender in addition to being a heavy EV. That version also has a system power of almost 700 hp, although the battery pack with 33 kWh is a lot smaller than that of the previously described variant. The Seres 5, like that SF5, will most likely have an interior in which a 17-inch large vertically oriented display dominates the center console.
A step above the Seres 5 comes the Seres 7, an electric crossover with a more sedan-like but also raised body. No extensive technical specifications are yet known about this slick-lined model, although we expect that it will also be available with the 694 hp electric powertrain. This exciting-looking EV is also coming to the Netherlands, although it follows a little after the arrival of the Seres 5. If all goes well, the first Seres 7 will be on Dutch soil before the end of this year.
The first copies of the Seres 3, introduced in the Netherlands at the beginning of December, appeared on Dutch registration just before the end of the year. According to Green Mobility Group Europe, the first for Dutch shipment concerns 50 cars, the first of which were registered on 31 December. The cars to be delivered in the Netherlands are delivered from European stock, for the time being there is no restriction on the number of copies intended for the Netherlands.
