Explosion in Leiden apartment complex leaves one injured

One person was injured in an explosion at an apartment complex on Opalstrasse in Leiden on Saturday afternoon. A spokesman for the Hollands Midden security area reported that the injured were being treated in an ambulance. Several houses were evacuated and streets were blocked.

According to reports, there was no fire. Earlier, security areas had urged people to stay away from the area and follow the instructions of emergency services. However, the extent of the damage and when residents will be able to return home are not yet known.

There was another explosion near the front door of Meerhoff’s house in Leiden’s Vos-Gasthuis district on Friday night.
