It was possible to get false travel and admission tickets in the CoronaCheck app due to a major leak at a corona test company. This is according to research by RTL Nieuws. The private data of more than 60,000 people who have taken a corona test at this company has been leaked.




According to RTL journalist Daniël Verlaan, the leak is at test company Testcoronanu. The leak allowed anyone to browse the test company’s corona database and add their own negative test there ‘childishly easy’.

After a report by RTL Nieuws, the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport (VWS) has closed the test company from its systems, so that no more tests or admission tickets can be issued. The test company of the Dutch Data Protection Authority must also stop testing immediately because the data is not safe there.

The leak also gave access to the private data of more than 60,000 people who took a test at Testcoronanu. This concerns full names, residential addresses, e-mail addresses, telephone numbers, social security numbers (BSNs), passport numbers and medical information such as whether you have been tested positive or negative. Hundreds of people had their positive corona test in the system.

Testcoronanu, with a total of thirteen locations, is popular because many influencers do a corona test there. Dave Roelvink, Bilal Wahib, Enzo Knol, Najib Amhali and Jamie Vaes, together good for millions of followers, have put the images of their test on Instagram, called the test company and thus advertised.
