Fastned opened its first four fast charging stations for electric cars in France on Tuesday. The Dutch company thus adds a sixth country to its European network. In the coming weeks, the listed Fastned will open another five charging stations in France.

The four charging stations are located along major highways between Paris and Lyon. Fastned had won a tender from the French toll road company. The other five stations will open in the coming weeks along the Autoroute du Soleil, on the route to Switzerland and around Dijon. Each station can charge up to hundreds of cars per day at high speed with fully sustainable electricity.

Since its foundation in 2012, Fastned has built 177 fast charging stations in the Netherlands, Germany, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Switzerland and now also in France.
