Round 33 in the Eredivisie brought numerous decisions. The national title went to Ajax. PEC Zwolle relegated, FC Twente can enter Europe. And then there was still plenty of news to report. Etienne Verhoeff discusses this in the AD Voetbalpodcast with Sjoerd Mossou.
,,For Ajax this was the gum title”, Mossou analyzes the championship of the team from Amsterdam. ,,They had a good first half of the season and a difficult second. Not so much in results, but in play. And because of the peripheral matters, of course. Overmars, Onana, Promes. It’s all been pretty extreme.”
Alfred Schreuder is the man who will have to take Ajax by the hand next year. “It will be the season of a thorough renovation. Some players are leaving, others are getting older. It doesn’t seem easy to me to succeed Ten Hag now. He has won many awards and done well in Europe. The question is whether you can continue that and whether you will have the time for it. So it’s not a bed that Schreuder gets into.”
Furthermore, the pain of relegation at PEC Zwolle. The mental pressure on the players of the other teams at the bottom. FC Twente back in Europe. Will Cody Gakpo sign in Eindhoven? And the words of Maurice Steijn about his departure from NAC Breda.
