PvdA Member of Parliament Henk Nijboer links this directly to the negative attitude of the VVD and CDA in the formation, because those parties do not want to negotiate with the PvdA-GroenLinks tandem. “The formation is slow and VVD and CDA are not really willing to talk, the ordinary man or woman will feel that if we do nothing with the budget.”
The cabinet is currently considering this, Budget Day will follow in September with the plans for 2022, but how far the caretaker cabinet wants to go with improvements in purchasing power is a secret until then.
According to GroenLinks Member of Parliament Bart Snels, the cabinet should move away from the path that primarily tax relief is given to companies. “It now has to go to the purchasing power of people. People should not be the victims of the drag of parties such as VVD and CDA.”
