“As a catering entrepreneur, I have decided to open tomorrow,” says Gordon. “That has to do with the fact that the situation is untenable. Both for business and for society as a whole.” The singer indicates that he has set up various businesses over the past eight years and has recently seen his companies “fall into ruin.”
In the video, the entrepreneur also says that he has informed Amsterdam mayor Femke Halsema of his plans. “She said that she has to enforce the national regulations and that is all fine, but it cannot be the case that that only applies to North Holland if the municipality of South Limburg allows opportunities to open.” Gordon is referring to the decision of various Limburg mayors to give catering and cultural institutions the space to open on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
For the artist, the measure is now full, he says. “I refuse to give up what I’ve worked for all these years.” Gordon accepts that the police may have to close the cases again, he says. “Even if it is closed with the police or the riot police, I think it’s all fine, but then they will have to fine the whole country because I call on all my colleagues to open too.”
