BEST – Fast charger manufacturer Heliox from Best has developed a flexible charging system to charge one or more heavy vehicles. Carrier Multiobus from Belgium is already using the system.
In the Netherlands, Heliox is working on projects for GVB Amsterdam and Hermes in Eindhoven, the company from Best reports. The new system was named Flex Charge.
“Startup and capital costs are the biggest challenge for the adoption of electric vehicles,” said Heliox CEO Michael Colijn. With this new system, fleet managers can keep their charging infrastructure in line with the number of electric vehicles in their stables.
6000 charging sessions per day
In other words, the system is scalable. As the fleet grows, so does the charging system. Colijn: “With Flex Charge we reduce the risk and barrier associated with making the switch to electric driving.”
Heliox is experiencing explosive growth. Since 2014, the company’s annual turnover has grown by an average of 45 percent to 40 million euros in 2020. The company is active worldwide. In the past six months, Heliox delivered more than 1 million charging sessions, or 6000 sessions per day.
