Music already stole Thomas Anders’ heart at a young age, but it did not bring him real success in the first few years. Until he was offered a recording contract in 1979, after he lost a music competition. A year later Thomas released his debut singles Judy off, followed by other songs like Es was that Night of the First Liebe and Ich will nicht dein Leben. But when the singer met Dieter Bohlen in 1983, his career took a completely different turn. A twist that changed his life forever.

While Bohlen initially produced songs for Anders, the two decided to work together a year later, in 1984, under the name Modern Talking. It turned out to be a hit: with the song You’re My Heart, You’re My Soul, the two gained worldwide fame and sold more than 125 million records of the song in the 1980s and 1990s.
