Hague bus and tram tickets to increase by more than 7% in 2023

Last Friday, The Hague regional airline HTM announced that it would increase the price of tram and bus tickets by 7.24% in 2023.

“This is much higher than in previous years, mainly due to higher energy prices,” said HTM. “To cope with rising costs such as labor costs, fuel and energy prices, the company has no choice but to adjust the prices of its travel products in line with recent inflation adjustments.”

Starting next year, travelers will pay €0.187 per kilometer. This is currently €0.174. The base fee will also be raised from €1.01 to €1.08 for him. The base fare is the amount each traveler pays at the start of the trip and is determined nationally.

However, the child fare on public transport in The Hague will be reduced from €1.50 to €1.00. Hereby, HTM would like to encourage (grandparents) with (grandchildren) children to use buses and trams during day trips.
