Luis (39) lost his wife shortly after the birth of Max (now 12 years old). He tries to give his son the best possible life, but that has to be based on a tight budget: they have to get by on 50 euros a week. ,,I feel poor when Max wants to go to the swimming pool and I don’t have the money for a ticket of 5 euros. I feel poor when he has a kid’s party and I come back with the cheapest shitty present. I feel poor when kids tell you what they’ve done and Max can’t tell,” Luis said in the most recent episode of Rich, Poor. “You end up in social isolation. Nobody invites you anymore.”
The story of Luis and his son max moved viewers so much that several people wanted to set up a crowdfunding campaign so that the family would have more money to do fun things together. Luis also lost his job last year due to the corona crisis, but people also thought along with him in that area: various job opportunities were shared.
Luis now has the prospect of a job, has received several annual subscriptions as a gift and one of the crowdfunding campaigns has already generated 159 donations, which amounts to an amount of almost 2000 euros. “In short, the family is happy with this experience!”, Talpa said when asked.
