Since the beginning of this month, Johnny de Mol can be seen every evening at 7.30 with his own talk show on SBS 6. At the end of his show, he played an old game from Barend & Van Dorp, the yes/no game. That yielded some revealing answers about the talk show. For example, the presenter admitted to thinking every episode: ‘What have I started?’ But in addition, he still thinks in 2026 HLF8 to present.
Most remarkable was his answer to the question: ‘Would you have presented a talk show without your father?’ Then Johnny said, “No.” At the end of the interview, he explained that answer. ,,I had to go to him to ask this. He is also the broadcaster. I had all noses in the same direction, but he had a hard head in it. I really had to bring in a number of people for that and make a pilot to convince him. Now I have to show it.”
He does get a lot of freedom from his father, but not all of it. ,,Normally we would have gone outside now and kicked a ball”, Johnny tells Frits Barend. “But he got that out. He didn’t like that.”
