Police officer who shot tractor charged

A police officer who shot into the cab of a tractor during last July’s farmers’ protests will be charged with attempted murder, prosecutors confirmed Friday.

The tractor driver, a 16-year-old, was initially charged with attempted murder for driving towards a group of police officers. These charges were later dropped.

Police have not officially commented on the incident, but have reiterated that they will only use weapons if they deem it necessary to carry out their duties.
