Luis Suárez does not have a good word for Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman. The Uruguayan attacker who became champion with Atlético Madrid is still disappointed by his departure from Catalonia, the role of the Dutch trainer is not comfortable for him.
The former FC Groningen and Ajax attacker has been playing for Barcelona since 2014, but was thanked there prior to this season for services rendered. The club no longer needed him, Suárez had to leave immediately, was the hard message. The revenge of the Uruguayan (who completely disagreed with that decision) is sweet: he became champion with Atlético Madrid, partly by excelling himself. After obtaining the title, he already lashed out at his ex-club, now he has taken it one step further.
In conversation with the TV program El Partidazo de Copa it was also about his departure from Catalonia. “First of all: I am grateful to Barcelona for everything. But it is clear that the then president has been shouting everything around my situation in the media, instead of just calling me … When they wanted Lionel Messi to stay longer, they called me to persuade him, they called Antoine Griezmann on. But why didn’t they call me to say I had to leave? ”
Suárez also does not have a good word for the behavior of trainer Koeman. “He also did not come to me to tell me that he no longer needed me, that he was looking for a different kind of striker. At one point the trainer said to me: “If this situation is not resolved tomorrow, then I am counting on you for the next game”. It was then that I realized that Koeman doesn’t have that much personality. He was told from above. ”
