Dutch Startup Delegation Attends Collision Conference | News Article

14 promising Dutch technology start-ups will participate in a trade mission to Toronto from June 26th to June 30th, 2023. This trade mission includes attending Collision Conference 2023, the fastest growing technology conference in North America, taking place June 26th through June. 29. Representatives from the municipalities of Amsterdam and Rotterdam and four technical universities in the Netherlands are also part of the delegation.

The startup delegation is made up of fast-growing technology companies seeking potential expansion into North America. Startups offer a variety of products and services, but most focus on medical technology, deep tech and artificial intelligence.

The goal of this trade mission is to support the international growth plans of promising Dutch start-ups. The mission is organized by the Dutch Enterprises Authority (RVO) and the Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Toronto.

why Toronto?

Toronto is fast becoming a vibrant tech hub with both incumbents and start-ups. The Big 5 of Alphabet (Google), Amazon, Apple, Meta (Facebook) and Microsoft have offices in the city, as do countless startups. This has made Toronto an attractive city that attracts talent and capital. Today, he employs over 80,000 people in Toronto’s technology sector. Universities in the region also have a strong focus on technology, and are also home to acclaimed experts like Jeffrey Hinton, his AI godfather at the University of Toronto. Scientists are also exploring partnerships with the private sector, and these public-private partnerships have proven successful.

During trade missions, startups will attend collision conferences, meet with investors and other stakeholders, participate in networking sessions, participate in panel discussions, pitch training, and several side events. A panel discussion on ethical artificial intelligence applied to healthcare, hosted by the Dutch Consulate General, will take place on Tuesday, June 27th, with speakers from Canada and the Netherlands.
