Toronto is fast becoming a vibrant tech hub with both incumbents and start-ups. The Big 5 of Alphabet (Google), Amazon, Apple, Meta (Facebook) and Microsoft have offices in the city, as do countless startups. This has made Toronto an attractive city that attracts talent and capital. Today, he employs over 80,000 people in Toronto’s technology sector. Universities in the region also have a strong focus on technology, and are also home to acclaimed experts like Jeffrey Hinton, his AI godfather at the University of Toronto. During trade missions, startups will attend collision conferences, meet with investors and other stakeholders, participate in networking sessions, participate in panel discussions, pitch training, and several side events. A panel discussion on ethical artificial intelligence applied to healthcare, hosted by the Dutch Consulate General, will take place on Tuesday, June 27th, with speakers from Canada and the Netherlands.
