Malen and Haaland give ‘BVB’ three points and lead despite early goal Weghorst | Foreign football

BundesligaBorussia Dortmund took three points on a visit to VfL Wolfsburg. Despite a quick goal by Wout Weghorst, ‘BVB’ won 3-1, partly due to goals from Donyell Malen and Erling Braut Haaland, who had recovered from an injury. Dortmund is also the leader in Germany, at least for a few hours, thanks to the victory.

Malen and co have thirty points after thirteen games. Bayern Munich has 28 points, but will play against Arminia Bielefeld in the thirteenth round at 6.30 pm.

Weghorst opened the score on behalf of the home team after just two minutes. With his chest he worked the ball in for his fifth Bundesliga goal of the season. It was a special goal for Wolfsburg, because the club failed to score in the last nine matches with Borussia Dortmund. Weghorst put an end to that series.

Emre Can equalized Dortmund in the 35th minute from a penalty kick. Malen received the ball in the 55th minute by captain Marco Reus and then hit from a distance. It marked his third goal for the Orange international in the last three games. Malen was accurate in the league match against VfB Stuttgart last week and on Wednesday he scored in the 3-1 lost away game against Sporting Portugal in the Champions League, in which Dortmund is now eliminated.

Malen was replaced in the 73rd minute and Erling Braut Haaland made his comeback after more than a month of injury. Haaland didn’t take long to find the net. Seven minutes after his substitute, the Norwegian decided the match on a pass from Julian Brandt: 1-3. It was his 50th goal in 50 Bundesliga games.

Number 3 SC Freiburg surprisingly lost at VfL Bochum: 2-1. Mark Fleks, one of the goalkeepers of the Dutch national team, was under the bar at Freiburg. View the state of affairs in the Bundesliga here.
