Man pays 250 euros for tank of petrol because pump does not turn off | Car

A Belgian motorist got the fright of his life when the pump kept running at a gas station in Mortsel, even though his tank was already full. Another 250 euros was automatically debited from his account.




Due to a faulty fuel nozzle, the petrol continued to flow after the man had finished refueling. About 170 liters were lost. The man then discovered that 250 euros had been charged for the wasted petrol.

According to the Belgian newspaper The newspapaer The police were called, after which one of the officers eventually pressed the emergency stop button. The fire brigade was then called in, who ruled that the gas station had to be closed for a few hours for safety, because there was petrol everywhere.

The officers reportedly did not make a report of the situation. According to the newspaper, the owner of the gas station has promised that he will return the excess money to the account of the injured motorist.
