Marathon legend Mo Farah (39) is preparing for first marathon in three years: ‘Can’t wait’ | Other sports

Multiple Olympic and world champion Mo Farah will run his first marathon in three years in London in October. The 39-year-old Briton, who already hinted at an end to his career this year, was unable to run for a long time due to a foot injury.

“It does seem a long time ago since I last participated, but I can’t wait to be there again,” said Farah. In 2018 he finished third in the London Marathon.

Farah already took part in the Vitality London 10,000 in May, a 10-kilometer run in the city where he lives. That was his first game in almost a year. After finishing second in that race and missing out on the World Cup later this month, Farah said his professional career could be over.

Farah took gold in the 5000 and 10,000 meters at both the London 2012 and Rio Olympics four years later. He failed to qualify for the Tokyo Games last year.
