A large fire broke out in an industrial park in Soesterberg near Utrecht, destroying garages, furniture stores and other buildings, causing millions of euros worth of damage.
A fire in the garage on Monday night quickly spread to other buildings in the complex, saving only the Kwantum DIY store. No one was injured in the fire, and investigators are now trying to figure out what ignited.
A total of 15 fire trucks and 150 volunteers participated in an effort to control the fire, and three homes were evacuated.
Mayor Rob Mets told broadcaster RTV Utrecht that the fire was a tragedy for everyone involved.
