Massive statements of support for Jürgen Conings on social media

The possibly heavily armed Conings (46), who is still without a trace since he left his home in Dilsen-Stokkem on Monday morning, can count on increasing support. Earlier this week he received praise from Tomas Boutens, the former and convicted leader of the extreme right-wing group BBET (Blood, Soil, Honor and Faith). Boutens wrote in a Facebook post that Conings, like many other soldiers who have been on a foreign mission, “has known very dark days.”

That line is now being continued by other Facebook users. Conings would be a “hero” who “did everything for his Fatherland”. Several groups have been gaining popularity since the day before yesterday and are specially set up to support the man. Some already have thousands of members. Not only former soldiers, soldiers or friends and acquaintances of Conings eagerly post messages in the platforms, also some public figures adore the man. Carrera Neefs, former municipal councilor for Vlaams Belang from Wuustwezel, writes that Conings “has been working all his life” and that the “problem of others is that he is on the right” and “is tired of corona madness”.
