Michael van Gerwen and other dart stoppers land in Australia for Queensland Darts Masters | Sport

Friday and Saturday it’s time for the Queensland Darts Masters, part of the World Series of Darts. Eight world champions will compete in Australia against eight local heroes. Michael van Gerwen is the only Dutchman at the ouch.

It is already the fourth game in the World Series of Darts. At the beginning of June, Michael Smith won the US Darts Masters in New York, a week later Dimitri Van den Bergh was victorious in Copenhagen (Nordic Darts Masters) and at the end of June Dirk van Duijvenbode took the victory in front of his own audience in the Ziggo Dome during the Dutch Darts Masters.

In the coming weeks, the darts players can be found in Oceania. On Friday 12 and Saturday 13 August, Australia’s Townsville is the setting for the Queensland Darts Masters, a week later the New South Wales Darts Masters will take place in Wollongong – where the World Cycling Championships will be held later this year.

The trip ends on August 26 and 27 in New Zealand with the New Zealand Darts Masters. The World Series of Darts ends from September 16 to 18 in the AFAS Live, where the final will be held. Van Gerwen, Van Duijvenbode, Danny Noppert and Vincent van der Voort are already certain of participating and will then compete against twenty other players.
