The Ministry of Justice and Security was closed tonight due to a demonstration against the corona measures, which started just before the press conference of outgoing Prime Minister Rutte and Minister De Jonge. The press conference was held in the ministry. Officials and journalists were not allowed to leave until around 9:30 p.m.
The demonstration started as a noise protest on the Turfmarkt, at the ministry. It is estimated that several hundred protesters were beating pots and pans, carrying megaphones and sirens. The demonstration was not reported, a municipal spokesperson told ANP news agency.
