According to the paper seen by Bloomberg, The European Commission proposes a 9-month limit on the efficacy of the coronavirus vaccine approved for international travelers. This means that after 9 months, travelers will need to receive so-called booster shots in order to enter the EU.

Unvaccinated people between the ages of 6 and 17 should be presented with a recent negative PCR test prior to departure. Travelers of all ages who have recently recovered or received a vaccine that has not been (yet) approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) must also present proof that the coronavirus test is negative.

EU opens border for all vaccinated travelers

In addition to this, the Commission has resumed the block boundaries for all travelers who received a vaccine approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) from 10 January 2022, and is currently in use by the block. It is set to recommend the abolition of the whitelist system of the United States for travelers flying from outside the Union from March 1st.

This means that all travelers who have been vaccinated with COVID-19 or have been recently recovered and have an EU Digital COVID-19 Certificate (or equivalent) will be sent to the EU regardless of their country of origin. It means that you are allowed to enter the country.according to BloombergThis so-called “streamlined approach” means that from next spring, “the EU will be completely dependent on the status of the traveler, not the country of origin of the traveler.”

These proposals will be announced Thursday and will be presented to Member States for approval. Under these new regulations, the Netherlands and other EU countries can implement their own requirements for additional testing or quarantine upon arrival.
