Cycling team Jumbo-Visma has not yet made a decision whether Wout van Aert will start in the Tour of Flanders. The team announced yesterday that the Belgian leader is not feeling well.
“We are still waiting for the final decision of the team management and the medical staff whether Wout can participate or not,” said the spokesperson for the team about the sick Belgian champion. “That decision has not yet been made. And it’s hard to say when that will happen. There is no need to rush that decision.”
Van Aert currently resides at home in Herentals. If he does not start in the Tour of Flanders, he will be replaced by neopro Mick van Dijke. The other six Jumbo-Visma riders are Dutch champion Timo Roosen, Mike Teunissen, the Belgians Tiesj Benoot and Nathan Van Hooydonck, the Frenchman Christophe Laporte and the Italian Edoardo Affini.
