A ‘Sinterklaas agreement’ as the final part of the long formation negotiations is not in it. This can be deduced from a letter that the informants Remkes and Koolmees sent to Chamber President Bergkamp.
They write that good progress has been made at the meetings at the De Zwaluwenberg estate in Hilversum last week. In the week after next week, i.e. after December 5, the House will again be updated about the formation, they write.
According to Koolmees and Remkes, the negotiations are now well advanced in line with expectations, but no agreement has yet been reached on the whole.
Cats home deliberation about corona
The letter to the President of the House states that the further progress of the talks is partly dominated by obligations that the negotiators have in the House or the outgoing cabinet. This concerns, among other things, the fight against the corona pandemic and the handling of the budget.
Today and tomorrow there would be talk again at the De Zwaluwenberg estate in Hilversum, but that could not take place due to the Catshuis deliberation that is being held in connection with tomorrow’s early corona press conference. The formation is still being discussed today and tomorrow, but that is happening without the cabinet members who are at the consultation about corona.
