According to police statistics, reports of noise pollution have increased more than ever since the coronavirus pandemic began.

From March 2020 to February 2021, general reports of noise pollution across the Netherlands reached 186,958, an increase of almost two-thirds over the same period last year.

Almost all of the noise was clearly neighborhood noise. 98% (183,671) of complaints were not noise from individually measured bars or events.

As the bar closed and the event was canceled, Prime Minister Mark Rutte asked him to work from home, building work boomed, and complaints about noise in the neighborhood surged.

In Zuid-Holland, people were most disturbed by noisy neighbors, followed by Noord-Holland, followed by Noord-Brabant.

Beter Buren, a local mediation service, said the number of requests to the helpline increased dramatically after the coronavirus pandemic began and recommended some simple remedies. Insulation.
