Olympique Lyon wants to continue quickly with Peter Bosz | transfer talk

The chance is increasing that Peter Bosz will become the new trainer of Olympique Lyon. The French club, which finished fourth last season and is entering the Europa League, is fully committed to his arrival.

Olympique Lyon is looking for a successor to Rudi Garcia and may be able to continue this weekend, it sounds like from France. For Bosz (57) it would be another nice job at a foreign club after his previous employment with Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen. He also worked in Israel at Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Bosz has been available since he was fired from Leverkusen in March. In recent times, he has been in the interest of several clubs, including the southern French OGC Nice.

The French Ligue 1 is no stranger to him. As a player, he played for Toulon for three years. That Bosz still speaks French well, became apparent when he played as a trainer with Ajax in the semi-final of the Europa League against Lyon in 2017. After the final training on French soil, he gave a telephone interview along the field to his old Toulon coach Rolland Courbis, who is now a football analyst and has his own radio show.

At Leverkusen, Bosz worked with French striker Moussa Diaby. The ambitious Olympique Lyon of chairman Jean-Michel Aulas (since 1987) grabbed next to Champions League football on the final day this season and enters the Europa League. That will happen without captain and star player Memphis Depay, who leaves on a free transfer.
