One person was injured Wednesday afternoon in shootings in the middle of a leafy street in the village of Bunschoten-Spakenburg. Police managed to arrest one person involved in the incident.
Police said, “The victim has recovered and was taken to hospital. No other details about the victim or suspect have been released.
Police said the incident occurred shortly after 3:30 pm in the Utrecht village of Veenestraat. The shooter initially fled the scene but was tracked down after police’s “rapid” response. Authorities initially sent a police helicopter to monitor the scene and appealed to the public to call emergency services if the suspect was spotted.
Local media outlet RTV Utrecht said there were several bullet cases on the street where the shooting took place. The magazine used for shooting was also reflected in the photo of the scene.
The motive behind the shooting is still under investigation.
