The first report of the collision was received at the control room on Saturday afternoon at 12.30 pm. In addition to various emergency vehicles, a trauma helicopter also arrived at the scene. When they arrived, they found a man at the bottom of the car. The car itself had driven into the corner of a barn. It soon became clear that the victim had died on the spot. It concerns a 31-year-old man from Oosterhout.
The driver of the car appeared to have fled. Several witnesses had seen it happen and gave a brief description. A short time later, a 26-year-old man from Raamsdonksveer reported to the station. He said he was involved in the collision. The suspect has been arrested. An extensive investigation was immediately launched on site. Several witnesses reported that there may have been intent. This is of course included in the research. The victim’s family has been notified of the death by officers. Victim Care has contacted witnesses who had seen it. The traffic accident analysis department (VOA) has conducted the investigation on site and will continue it.
