NHL Stanley Cup Odds For 2022

The NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs will begin this Monday, May 2nd. The NHL’s regular season is coming to a close and it is almost the best time of year in the NHL. There is so much unpredictability when the Stanley Cup Playoffs arrive.

Sports news has so many stories out on the internet right now about the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Who are currently the favorites to win the 2022 Stanley Cup?

Colorado Avalanche +350

The Colorado Avalanche currently remain the favorite to win the 2022 Stanley Cup. Colorado has a little bit of an easier path to win it all this year because they are in the Western Conference compared to the Eastern Conference. The Avalanche will not win the Presidents’ Trophy this year.

Colorado is still one of the teams that will be under the most pressure to win it all this year. If Darcy Kuemper doesn’t flop like Philipp Grubauer did last year, they will be the last ones standing. They have not gotten past the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs in a very long time.

The Colorado Avalanche has not won the Stanley Cup since 2001 against the New Jersey Devils in seven games. Colorado is loaded with offensive and blue line talent like Nathan MacKinnon, Mikko Rantanen, and Cale Makar. Jared Bednar is the head coach of this hockey team.

Florida Panthers +550

The Florida Panthers are on track to win its first Presidents’ Trophy in franchise history. Florida is the second favorite to win the 2022 Stanley Cup. The Panthers have four lines that can score at any moment in the hockey game, but they also give up tons of goals. Their open system might cost them in the postseason.

Sergei Bobrovsky and Spencer Knight will be huge question marks in the net for Florida. Aleksander Barkov and Jonathan Huberdeau are the best two offensive players on this roster. They are going to be tough to stop offensively in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

The only thing that will stop them from winning it all is the curse of the President’s Trophy. We will see if they can take it up to another level. Andrew Brunette is the head coach of this Florida Panthers hockey team.

Calgary Flames +900

The Calgary Flames have the third-best odds to win the 2022 Stanley Cup title. Calgary has two elite players in Johnny Gaudreau and Matthew Tkachuk. Jacob Markstrom is an elite goalie. The blueline is very strong.

The Flames don’t have a tough Western Conference to play in, but the fact they might have to face the Nashville Predators in the first round of the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs is a scary scene. That is a very bad draw for Calgary.

A Candian hockey team hasn’t won a Stanley Cup title since the Montreal Canadiens in the 1993 season. The Calgary Flames might have the best chance to break that streak though.

Toronto Maple Leafs, Tampa Bay Lightning +1000

The Toronto Maple Leafs and the Tampa Bay Lightning both have the fourth-best odds to win the 2022 Stanley Cup title. Toronto and Tampa Bay are both on a collision course for a first-round matchup in the Stanley Cup playoffs in the Atlantic Division.

The Maple Leafs would have home ice in that series against the Lightning. A lot of people feel like Toronto will end its playoff winless series drought and a lot of people feel like Tampa Bay is fatigued from winning back-to-back Stanley Cups.

The Toronto Maple Leafs head coach is Sheldon Keefe. Auston Matthews and Mitchell Marner are ready to take it to another level this year when the postseason arrives. The major question will be can role players step up for them? Will the blueline not got exposed and can the goaltending make any key stops when called upon?

The Tampa Bay Lightning head coach is Jon Cooper. The Steven Stamkos, Nikita Kucherov, and Brayden Point trio will be ready to roll, but can the depth pieces step up? The blueline has not been the same this year and goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy appears to be fatigued from recent postseason runs.
