Possible operation for Feyenoord keeper Justin Bijlow | Dutch football

Feyenoord cannot have keeper Justin Bijlow tomorrow in the eighth final of the Conference League against Partizan Belgrade. The 24-year-old goalkeeper is still struggling with a foot injury, which already kept him sidelined against PEC Zwolle on Sunday.

Further investigation into the injury is currently being conducted, the results of which are still awaited. There is a chance that surgery will be needed to get Bijlow fit again. Whether the Classic of Sunday afternoon is feasible is still the question, but if the keeper does indeed have to go under the knife, he will not take place under the bar for the time being.

Ofir Marciano (32) will again take the honors against Partizan Belgrade on Thursday evening. The goalkeeper of the national team of Israel was already under the bar in Zwolle on Sunday and did that properly. ,,I know my situation”, Marciano said after that game. ,,Justin is the keeper of the Dutch national team and I have to be there if necessary. We make each other stronger. Of course I hope Justin will be fit again soon.”

At the end of the month, the international matches of Orange against Denmark and Germany are on the program. Bijlow was already included in the pre-selection of national coach Louis van Gaal. Whether Bijlow can indeed be there in the Johan Cruijff Arena, of course, depends entirely on the results of the further investigations.
