Princess Beatrice does not have to testify in case against her father | royals

Andrew’s alleged victim, Virginia Giuffre, claims to have had sex with the prince multiple times when he was a minor. According to her, one of those times was after a visit to a nightclub in March 2001. Andrew denied this in the much-discussed interview with the BBC in 2019. He said he was then eating with Beatrice at a Pizza Express branch.

The royal family feared The Telegraph that Beatrice would be called as a witness. Virginia Giuffre’s lawyers have sued two Britons for the time being; Robert Olney, a former aide to the Duke, and Shukri Walker summoned. He is said to have seen Andrew at the nightclub on the night Andrew allegedly forced Giuffre into sex.

The Virginia lawyer had previously said he could also call people close to Andrew, such as his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson or his brother Prince Charles. Meghan has also been suggested as a possible witness.

A judge in New York ruled earlier this week that the case may continue. On Thursday it was announced that Prince Andrew will defend himself as a civilian. His mother Queen Elizabeth took all his honorary titles and his title of address from His Royal Highness.
