Princess Beatrix arrived at Curaçao International Airport on Thursday. At the airport just outside Willemstad she was met by Governor Lucille George-Wout and Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas. “It’s so nice to be here again,” said Beatrix on arrival.

At around 4 pm (9 pm Dutch time), the plane that Beatrix was traveling with landed from Schiphol. The princess is on the island from Thursday afternoon to Sunday. Her agenda is quite full for those three days. The visit is mainly about nature conservation and the effects of the corona pandemic. Among other things, she follows a nature lesson for school children, she helps release a flamingo that has recovered after a stay in a veterinary clinic and she is taught how to breed coral larvae.
