Radio station wants to pay any penalty for show Theo Maassen | Culture

In the theater Theo Maassen gives performances to a full house on Thursday and Friday evenings. Under the current corona measures, theaters are only allowed to let in two-thirds of their full capacity. The Love decided not to comply with that measure. During the try-outs on Thursday and Friday all 120 seats are occupied. Visitors must show their CoronaCheck app.

The municipality has indicated that it will take ‘enforcement’ action. That could mean that the theater receives a penalty of 2500 euros on the first night. It is not clear what will happen if the theater also runs at full capacity on the second night.

‘Totally awesome’

100% NL decided on Thursday morning to announce a fundraising campaign to at least absorb Thursday’s penalty, partly because the theater is run entirely by volunteers. De Liefde calls the action “completely amazing”. Incidentally, the capacity measures will no longer apply as of September 25, the corona press conference revealed on Tuesday.

The actual donating of the money has not yet started. For the time being, the radio station has made an inventory of whether there is enthusiasm for the action. When the penalty payment is actually imposed on Thursday, 100% NL will bring the listener and the theater into contact with each other, a spokesperson for the station said to the broadcaster. AP.
