On IDAHOT (International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia), we want to encourage those who risk their lives to promote and protect LGBTIQ+ rights.

For IDAHOT, we spoke with Purity, a Ugandan transactivist living in Sweden. Purity is a trans woman, founder of Kenya’s Trans Refugee Initiative, Director of Transgender Europe (TGEU), Rainbow Refugee Sweden, and Miss Trans Global representing Uganda.

She shared her powerful story of overcoming obstacles and becoming who she is. Her testimony inspires us all and reminds us why it is so important to promote and strengthen equal rights for her LGBTIQ+ community around the world.
