The Hague’s waste container closed at the turn of the year

Some waste containers in The Hague are closed at the turn of the year to prevent fires and damage.

A number of underground waste containers will be closed on Saturday, December 31, 2022 and Sunday, January 1, 2023. Some ground containers will be removed before the new year and put back in the new year. On December 31st and January 1st, all containers of paper and plastic packages, cans and cartons will be closed.

Textile containers will be closed from Monday 26th December until Monday 2nd January 2023.

Waste paper will not be collected door-to-door from Monday, December 26, 2022 to Monday, January 2, 2023.

Also, from Saturday 24th December to Sunday 1st January gemeente will not collect bulky waste. Garbage collection stations still allow people to hand in their own garbage.
