Andrej Roeblev has qualified at the expense of Andy Murray for the quarter finals of the ABN Amro tournament in Rotterdam. The fourth seeded Russian was too strong for the 2009 winner in two sets: 7-5, 6-2.
For a long time it went right in Ahoy in the first set. In the eleventh game, however, 33-year-old Murray gave up his service with a double error, after which the Scot failed to use two breakpoints in the next game and lost the first set 5-7.
Murray, who defeated Robin Haasse in three sets in the first round, was able to come up 2-2 in the second set, but then threw the towel. Roeblev then managed to take the set 6-2 without any problems.
